I heeded the warnings, "don't fool around with the service menu, you can permanently damage your Crt" but still ended up killing my Crt ; (. I spent an afternoon getting the image justtttt right. The next morning I couldn't help but tinker more. While trying to get the picture justttt right again (I really didn't need to), I thought it'd be Calibrating CRT in production was done in two ways: For run-of-the mill CRT, automatic convergence measurement was done with optical sensors. Messing around in the Service Menu is the quickest way to brick your tv if you don't know EXACTLY what you are doing. If you mess something up, there is no factory reset for the Service Menu like there is for the tv in user mode.

I'm trying to repair a LG CRT TV witch turns off (standby mode) withing few seconds after starting. Default blue screen also working fine.

Unfortunately on this TV I don’t have the VMLV option; but in scrolling through I found VMOF, VMLO, VMHI, which sounds like the options I have on an older model when selecting the VM setting in the menu! It's getting hardness to find info on Service menu settings for Sony's WEGA CRT Tvs. Much of the the info has disappeared from the Website. For the most part, this thread be relevant for WEGA CRTs produced from round 2000 go 2006 or thus. The Following info comes from mTgB4EW.
